ageloc logoSo I arrived at my destination nervous, with a long list of questions I wanted answered. My first big question (which I was quickly corrected on) was, ‘what kind of product is ageLOC?’ to which Shelley quickly replied “ageLOC is not a product, it’s a technology!”

I’m not sure the three of us had the same intentions for this evening. I was greeted by the very lovely Samantha and introduced to Shelley and their sweet little Chihuahua Cuba, who licked at my feet happily for a long time, before falling asleep.

I arrived with the intention of finding out about ageLOC and writing up an article, asking questions such as “Where can we get it?”, “What’s so special about it?” and “Who’s skin is it good for?” The girls had slightly different intentions, which I only slowly figured out as the evening progressed.

ageLOC is a technology discovered by two doctors, Dr. James and Dorothy Morre and developed in conjunction with Dr. Joseph Chang. It is very scientifically based and has had a lot of research done on it, perhaps the most influential was done by Stanford University. The principle behind the ‘miracle’ of ageLOC is that everybody’s skin, once you reach the ages of 25-30, starts producing this enzyme named arNOX, which causes ageing internally by spewing out free-radicals (interesting, that after spending 18 months at beauty school I never once heard about this mythical arNOX). ageLOC stops the production of arNOX completely. One hundred percent of the time. Apparently.

My next and only question really, was “What is ageLOC then?” Unfortunately, both Sam and Shelley seemed unable to answer me. Apparently it is still top-secret, and more will be revealed after it’s US launch in October. I understand it is a patented formula, which the doctors came up with after “thousands of tests to find the perfect blend”, and it will one day be put into all their products, which by the looks of the before and after photos I was shown produce amazing results. I know you apply the products by using a hand-held galvanic machine. But I’m still pondering the question, what is ageLOC?

Obviously ageLOC is a powerful combination of active ingredients that will be (once released) concentrated into the wide range of products which both Shelley and Sam are distributors of. As my evening progressed, and I was shown facts and figures less about skincare and more about business building and income “leverage”, I realised that I was being persuaded to become a business builder myself. I mean no offence to Sam and Shelley, but I’m not sure this is the business for me. I was firmly assured that ageLOC distribution is not a pyramid scheme, but to me it certainly wore the same clothes as one.

I would like to thank very much Sam and Shelley for introducing me to ageLOC, which, if the pictures are true is seriously an awesome product! And for anybody out there who would like to know more (about the product as well as perhaps becoming a business builder) please get in touch with Samantha and Shelley at evernu@mybigplanet.com :)

I just want to correct you on your thoughts about a pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes are illegal fraudulent schemes whereby money is extorted with the promise of receiving more money than you paid. Nuskin is a legitimate company that is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it has 125 Ph.D staff scientists doing its research and development. Distributors get paid commission on products sales only and not for introducing other distributors. All Nuskin products are excellent and can be seen to make a difference. That is why the company’s logo is The Difference Demonstrated. Nuskin is in the top 10 of all Multi Level Marketing companies worldwide and is rock solid! I am a very proud Nuskin distributor and I have been to Utah and have met some of the top management in the company and their and the company’s integrity is beyond reproach!!

Thanks for your comment, Eliza. I don’t mean any offence by calling ageLOC a pyramid scheme, as I can’t think of another term for something where by distributors find new distributors, essentially earning money for themselves through other peoples selling. I do like the principles of ageLOC but would’ve liked further information on what the product is that actually stops ageing at it’s source, rather than just blindly believing what somebody else tells me. I hope you do well with your ageLOC endeavours, and come back to RCG :)
